Lindy Hop Birmingham – a class update!

We’ve now done our first 3 weeks of term and what fun it has been!

Class warm ups

So far we’ve walked ‘On the Sunnyside of the Street’ with Ella Fitzgerald,

walked ‘500 miles’ with the Proclaimers

And walked the line with Johnny Cash to mention a few.

So, what have we been working on?

The focus has been on the basic 6 count footwork with triple steps in a variety of patterns and shapes with emphasis on the lead and follow, transitions and musicality.

Along the way we have encountered a revisit from the notorious ‘badger’ from last term (a.k.a. a jockey). It has managed to sneak a few alternative friends in along the way including T. Rex arms, robots, armpit hamsters* (thank you Stephen Badham, .

At the end of it all, we had time to practice.

The fun will continue next Wednesday with Class Number 4 of term.  Please message  us with any suggestions for warm up tunes.

      Hi Jacquie,
Thanks for commenting. Our next block starts Wednesday 18th October and it would be great to see you. There is also a fun class open to all on the 11th where Sam will be teaching a popular solo routine.
