Safer Dancing Policy. Incident Reporting.
Lindy Hop Birmingham has three nominated ‘Safety People’ Sam, Karl, Ben. They are available either in person at classes and events or at www.lindyhopbirmingham.co.uk . Other ‘Safety People’ in other groups are also contactable via www.safetyinswingdance.com if you would like to discuss things with people from outside the Birmingham scene.
Please feel free to contact any of the ‘Safety People’ for informal chats and reassurances.
All complaints will be taken seriously in a supportive and non-judgemental way.
All complaints will be dealt with in the strictest confidence.
All incidents will be recorded in a secure log file accessible only by nominated ‘Safety People’
It will contain:
- To whom
- The person reporting the incident
- The person recording the incident
- Next steps and Outcomes.
The other party will be approached and a separate incident report made, maintaining anonymity if requested or required.
Appropriate actions if necessary will be taken and recorded.
If no acceptable resolution is found, other groups may be approached for advice/arbitration at any time.
Karl is DBS checked and works in the education sector. He attends regular Local Authority safeguarding training for working with children and vulnerable young people in educational establishments.
Sam is DBS checked and attends National Health safeguarding training for vulnerable adults and children.
